The king and divine right

“A divine sentence is in the lips of the king.” (Prov. 16:10).

The Bible teaches divine right, not only for a monarch, but for all national leaders and leaders of every kind, pastors, commanders, supervisors, etc. “Thou shalt not revile the gods, nor curse the ruler of thy people.” (Ex. 22:28). But, it also teaches that this king must rule like the God of heaven and according to Law of His greater kingdom. The earthly monarch acknowledges and serves the King of heaven.

“Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto Thee will I pray.” (Ps. 5:2).

“And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and He doeth according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay His hand, or say unto Him, What doest Thou?… Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honour the King of heaven, all whose works are truth, and His ways judgment: and those that walk in pride He is able to abase.” (Dan. 4:35,37).

“For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.” (Ps. 95:3).

“They have seen Thy goings, O God; even the goings of my God, my King, in the sanctuary.” (Ps. 68:24).

“For the LORD most high is terrible; He is a great King over all the earth.
He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.
He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom He loved. Selah.
God is gone up with a shout, the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.” (Ps. 47:2-7).

Therefore the earthly monarch makes himself a subject of the highest Monarch and His Law.

“A divine sentence is in the lips of the king: his mouth transgresseth not in judgment.” (Prov. 16:10).

“It is an abomination to kings to commit wickedness: for the throne is established by righteousness.” (Prov. 16:12).

“A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.” (Prov. 20:8).

“Better is a poor and a wise child than an old and foolish king, who will no more be admonished.” (Ecc. 4:13).

“Blessed art thou, O land, when thy king is the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness!” (Ecc. 10:17).

The king and the Creator both rule alike. The leader is servant to the greater Leader, who is full of grace and truth. “Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.” (Prov. 20:28). A ruler without mercy is a dictatorship, even though it call itself a democracy or monarchy, or even a republic, such as Imperial Rome claimed to be. And God deposes the dictator. Though his reign of terror continue for decades, he only heaps up retribution for the end of his life and for Judgment Day.

“Manasseh was twelve years old when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and five years in Jerusalem:
But did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, like unto the abominations of the heathen, whom the LORD had cast out before the children of Israel.
For he built again the high places which Hezekiah his father had broken down, and he reared up altars for Baalim, and made groves, and worshipped all the host of heaven, and served them.
Also he built altars in the house of the LORD, whereof the LORD had said, In Jerusalem shall my name be for ever.
And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the LORD.
And he caused his children to pass through the fire in the valley of the son of Hinnom: also he observed times, and used enchantments, and used witchcraft, and dealt with a familiar spirit, and with wizards: he wrought much evil in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:
Neither will I any more remove the foot of Israel from out of the land which I have appointed for your fathers; so that they will take heed to do all that I have commanded them, according to the whole law and the statutes and the ordinances by the hand of Moses.
So Manasseh made Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, and to do worse than the heathen, whom the LORD had destroyed before the children of Israel.
And the LORD spake to Manasseh, and to his people: but they would not hearken.
Wherefore the LORD brought upon them the captains of the host of the king of Assyria, which took Manasseh among the thorns, and bound him with fetters, and carried him to Babylon.” (2Chron. 33:1-11).

“Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church.
And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.
And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)
And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people.
Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.
And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.…
And upon a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat upon his throne, and made an oration unto them.
And the people gave a shout, saying, It is the voice of a god, and not of a man.
And immediately the angel of the Lord smote him, because he gave not God the glory: and he was eaten of worms, and gave up the ghost.” (Acts 12:1-7,21-23).

And it usually takes longer than a single dictator, but God deposes dictatorships also. It took 1260 years to depose the dictatorial Roman Papacy, but it surely happened when liberty-loving Republicanism stood forth with liberty-loving Protestantism.

“Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;
And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.
I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;…
And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.” (Dan. 7:19-21,24,25).

“And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held: and they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth? And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.” (Rev. 6:9-11).

“For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.” (Matt. 24:21,22).

“And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters:
With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.
And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication:
And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration.” (Rev. 17:1-6).

The beast that was and is not yet come will mean every nation united with the new world order papacy making war against the remnant people of God.

“And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.
And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.
These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.” (Rev. 17:10-18).

“Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.…
But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.
And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey Him.” (Dan. 7:22,23,26,27).

“The saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.” (Dan. 7:18).

“One of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?
And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.
Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple: and He that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.
They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.
For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.” (Rev. 7:13-17).

When the kings of the earth, be they political leaders (national, state, local), business leaders (corporation higher echelon, small business owners), military leaders (every rank up the chain of command), religious leaders (every rank up the hierarchy), leaders over the work place, local church leaders, family leaders (father, mother, elder siblings) are righteous and abiding by the principles of God’s Law of love and mercy and truth, then they are upheld by the God of organization.

“For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints….
Let all things be done decently and in order.” (1Cor. 14:33,40).

His salvation comes easiest in the context of temporal peace and order.

“I acknowledged my sin unto Thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and Thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
For this shall every one that is godly pray unto Thee in a time when Thou mayest be found.” (Ps. 32:5,6).

Satan loves anarchy, for when everything is in total confusion he is able to lead minds to serve self, and thus serve him.

“Surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto Him.” (Ps. 32:6).

But, the Creator of heaven and earth believes in and loves perfect order. Order and discipline are the foundation of His throne.

“Justice and judgment are the habitation of Thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before Thy face.
Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of Thy countenance.” (Ps. 89:14,15).

His whole plan of salvation has been orderly and concisely illustrated in His heavenly and earthly sanctuary home.

“We have such an high priest, who is set on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens; a Minister of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man.” (Heb. 8:1,2).

He wisely and compassionately gave Israel the highest of privileges to recreate on our planet a model of the heavenly home.

“And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring Me an offering: of every man that giveth it willingly with his heart ye shall take My offering.
And this is the offering which ye shall take of them; gold, and silver, and brass,
And blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine linen, and goats’ hair,
And rams’ skins dyed red, and badgers’ skins, and shittim wood,
Oil for the light, spices for anointing oil, and for sweet incense,
Onyx stones, and stones to be set in the ephod, and in the breastplate.
And let them make Me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.
According to all that I shew thee, after the pattern of the tabernacle, and the pattern of all the instruments thereof, even so shall ye make it….
And there I will meet with thee, and I will commune with thee from above the mercy seat, from between the two cherubims which are upon the ark of the testimony, of all things which I will give thee in commandment unto the children of Israel.” (Ex. 25:1-9,22).

“This was the dedication of the altar, in the day when it was anointed, by the princes of Israel: twelve chargers of silver, twelve silver bowls, twelve spoons of gold:
Each charger of silver weighing an hundred and thirty shekels, each bowl seventy: all the silver vessels weighed two thousand and four hundred shekels, after the shekel of the sanctuary:
The golden spoons were twelve, full of incense, weighing ten shekels apiece, after the shekel of the sanctuary: all the gold of the spoons was an hundred and twenty shekels.
All the oxen for the burnt offering were twelve bullocks, the rams twelve, the lambs of the first year twelve, with their meat offering: and the kids of the goats for sin offering twelve.
And all the oxen for the sacrifice of the peace offerings were twenty and four bullocks, the rams sixty, the he goats sixty, the lambs of the first year sixty. This was the dedication of the altar, after that it was anointed.
And when Moses was gone into the tabernacle of the congregation to speak with Him, then he heard the voice of one speaking unto him from off the mercy seat that was upon the ark of testimony, from between the two cherubims: and he spake unto Him.” (Num. 7:84-89).

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Speak unto Aaron thy brother, that he come not at all times into the holy place within the vail before the mercy seat, which is upon the ark; that he die not: for I will appear in the cloud upon the mercy seat.” (Lev. 16:2).

The sanctuary system was instituted because the children of Israel had learned disobedience, disorder, and rebellion from Egyptian life and its pagan religion. The patriarch and the eldest son had originally been chosen as priests for each family. But the holiness that would satisfy the living God was lost in slavery and in uniting with corrupted Egyptians for so many generations, that a new priestly system needed to be established that would ensure the needed holiness of heart and life. Satan loves confusion and creating an environment where everyone is alienated and at each others’ throat, which spread among the children of Israel. Unity, peace, love, and knowledge are all anathema to the devil because they allow for the Spirit of truth and grace to make headway into the hearts and minds of the human race. Satan must keep the Earth-dwelling, most precious race in the universe ignorant and angry, for then they are so much the easier to overcome and enslave. This is what Catholicism does, and every other world religion that keeps the people happy in ignorance and enslaved to their idols, their lusts, and to their dictatorships.

But those who have God’s word and His liberating precepts have the protection that He offers, which is bound up in obedience to His laws and statutes and covenant. “I will walk at liberty: for I seek Thy precepts.” (Ps. 119:45).

After Israel became a nation with a strong centralized government, the opportunity arose to organize the land and rid it of all who wouldn’t comply with the order of heaven. The purpose behind the Lord’s work in this was to educate His chosen people in righteousness and to recreate heaven on earth, at least as close to heaven as possible. Israel alone held the truth of righteousness, while the Gentile peoples were ignorant of it, the Philistines being the most numerous Gentiles in Canaan. They therefore became the focus of constant warfare with Israel.

“Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the LORD, and against His Anointed, saying,
Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Then shall He speak unto them in His wrath, and vex them in His sore displeasure.
Yet have I set My king upon My holy hill of Zion.
I will declare the decree: the LORD hath said unto me, Thou art My Son; this day have I begotten Thee.
Ask of Me, and I shall give Thee the heathen for Thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for Thy possession.
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; Thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.
Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth.
Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and ye perish from the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in Him.” (Ps. 2).

Psalm 2 was originally understood to partly refer to David and the kingdom of Israel. But Psalm 2 was never interpreted to be only of David, or Israel would simply have become another dictatorship, simulating the Gentile nations. The children of Israel all knew that their God, the only living Creator and Redeemer, overruled all the affairs of His earthly leaders. David was His chosen commander. But they knew that their “captain of the host (Josh. 5:14) of the Lord” before whom Joshua bowed low and worshiped, was their true Commander in chief. And as has been revealed since the Son came, “the Messiah the Prince” (Dan. 9:25) of heaven has ever had His own higher authority, Most High God the Father, the Ancient of days.

“I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head like the pure wool: His throne was like the fiery flame, and His wheels as burning fire…. I saw in the night visions, and, behold, One like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought Him near before Him.” (Dan. 7:9,13).

David replaced Saul as leader over the new heaven-earth coop to funnel righteousness and love back again into Satan’s usurped kingdom on Earth. King Saul had lost his first love and refused to repent of it. The good life afforded by pseudo-structuring his government after Egypt trapped him into deviating from the laws set forth by the Torah.

King Saul’s lack of continuous knowledge of Jehovah’s character permitted Satan to take over the king’s mind. Spiritualism took control of King Saul, though he knew it not. Entertaining his own ideas, rather than adhering to the statutes of Jehovah through Moses, Satan became his guide.

“When thou art come unto the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, and shalt possess it, and shalt dwell therein, and shalt say, I will set a king over me, like as all the nations that are about me;
Thou shalt in any wise set him king over thee, whom the LORD thy God shall choose: one from among thy brethren shalt thou set king over thee: thou mayest not set a stranger over thee, which is not thy brother.
But he shall not multiply horses to himself, nor cause the people to return to Egypt, to the end that he should multiply horses: forasmuch as the LORD hath said unto you, Ye shall henceforth return no more that way.
Neither shall he multiply wives to himself, that his heart turn not away: neither shall he greatly multiply to himself silver and gold.
And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of that which is before the priests the Levites:
And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:
That his heart be not lifted up above his brethren, and that he turn not aside from the commandment, to the right hand, or to the left: to the end that he may prolong his days in his kingdom, he, and his children, in the midst of Israel.” (Deut. 17:14-20).

Because King Saul would not heed the Law of his heavenly King, his King must bring a strong rebuke that might cause His erring servant to back down from his rebellion, as He had done with Job. This King Saul would have foreseen and accepted had he been studying his copy of the Holy Writ, as Jehovah had commanded him to write. This rebuke revealed that spiritualism had begun making its way into his mind because the word of God and the fear of God did not reside there.

“And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, He hath also rejected thee from being king.” (1Sam. 15:22,23).

However, spiritualism, once loved and inculcated, is not easily removed, even by God. So, even though Saul’s apparent response was, “I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice. Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD” (1Sam. 15:24,25), the king hadn’t renounced and forsake his love of being worshiped by Israel.

Jesus still saw that his heart was lacking faith in Jehovah, full of self-justifications, and loyalty to spiritualism. And because He was dwelling within Samuel we hear His voice and see His actions from what Samuel did next.

“And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.
And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.
And Samuel said unto him, The LORD hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbour of thine, that is better than thou.
And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for He is not a man, that He should repent.” (1Sam. 15:26-29).

Finally, when the heavenly Commander could do nothing more with King Saul, He removed from him His Spirit of grace and truth, thus leaving Lucifer a place in his heart, to enter and to occupy it.

“Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed [David] in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up, and went to Ramah. But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him.” (1Sam. 16:13,14).

From that point onward, Saul lost Jehovah’s monarchy in exchange for Satan’s dictatorship. Jehovah was no longer his guiding light. Satan took that position of authority. The laws of Jehovah were no longer the laws of Saul’s kingdom. Therefore, the divine right was taken away from Saul, for he was now the avowed enemy of God. And therefore, to be subject to the king now was to no longer heed the will of God and to also be an enemy of God. To be subject to Saul was to follow the path of the angelic hosts that rallied around Lucifer when he revolted in heaven.

“Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God.
Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.
For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake.
For for this cause pay ye tribute [taxes] also: for they are God’s ministers, attending continually upon this very thing.
Render therefore to all their dues: tribute to whom tribute is due; custom to whom custom; fear to whom fear; honour to whom honour.
Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law.” (Rom. 13:1-8).

The Bible has been criticized, and Romans 13:1-8 in particular, because the Nazi regime used this biblical text to align the state religion behind Adolf Hitler. Germany was still strongly Protestant, being that Protestantism began there. But it was also highly Catholic, and Hitler was being exalted by the Vatican to subjugate that nation and the world for Catholicism and for the Vatican’s lust for despotic world dominion. That is what the Third Reich was really about. It wasn’t about one man’s lust for world power; it was about a satanic organization’s lust for world power.

So the Catholic priests united with many Protestant pastors using Romans 13:1-8 to propagandize the people to support the divine right of an unbiblical government. The people had already been corrupted by the Weimar Republic’s worldliness and wickedness during the roaring ‘20s. The people fell before the Weimar delusion and made themselves willingly ignorant of biblical precepts, which alone could fortify their minds against it. And thus charmed, they and their children were swept into a concealed form of spiritualism. The underhanded movement by priests and pastors, which would employ Romans 13:1-8, got the people behind Hitler’s push into dictatorship, and coaxed out of them their assent for Germany to be the world’s number one aggressor nation.

But this situation could never have happened if the German people had been studying their Bible and had known God’s truth of the divine right issue. The propaganda used on the German people was simply a Vatican facelift bound up in atheistic nationalism and patriotism, and desperation to be liberated from the economic bottomless pit into which the Vatican’s League of Nations had thrown them. Satan was working from many directions to steer the unwitting populace to “legally” bring Hitler into political power and to bring the Vatican back into world power, this time absolute power over the whole globe.

This alliance with Rome brought them to national apostasy and then to national ruin. Could this scenario happen to the United States? Is America following a similar path that is already taking it deeper toward apostasy and ruin than Germany experienced? Wasn’t our wild ride from the ‘60s through the ‘90s simply the same strong delusion that took hold of Weimar Germany? Didn’t our nation initiate the dive into strong delusion and perdition that Paul prophesied of in 2 Thessalonians 2:11? Having spent the last of our Reformation youthfulness in the ‘60s, and then cooling that apostasy in the ‘70s because of the rampant diseases caused by the ‘60s, didn’t we perpetuate our rebellion by trudging on into ‘80s and ‘90s without repentance? Then haven’t we, since the turn of the new millennium, continued on, pretending that there is neither God nor accountability for our disowning Him and His holy Law? For our head-long tumble into idolatry and total disconnection from the God of our Protestant religion, do we not find ourselves now departing from the Constitution of our Protestantism’s God, from the God of creation who has been giving us life and breath and heartbeat, and from His Spirit of truth and grace, His peace and joy?

And we have yet to hit the bottom of our bottomless pit.

The same masterful mind that plotted against the faithful in ages past is still seeking to rid the earth of those who fear God and obey His law. Satan will excite indignation against the humble minority who conscientiously refuse to accept popular customs and traditions. Men of position and reputation will join with the lawless and the vile to take counsel against the people of God. Wealth, genius, education, will combine to cover them with contempt. Persecuting rulers, ministers, and church members will conspire against them. With voice and pen, by boasts, threats, and ridicule, they will seek to overthrow their faith. By false representations and angry appeals they will stir up the passions of the people. Not having a “Thus saith the Scriptures” to bring against the advocates of the Bible Sabbath, they will resort to oppressive enactments to supply the lack. To secure popularity and patronage, legislators will yield to the demand for a Sunday law. Those who fear God cannot accept an institution that violates a precept of the Decalogue. On this battlefield comes the last great conflict of the controversy between truth and error. And we are not left in doubt as to the issue. Now, as in the days of Mordecai, the Lord will vindicate His truth and His people.
By the decree enforcing the institution of the papacy in violation of the law of God, our nation will disconnect herself fully from righteousness. When Protestantism shall stretch her hand across the gulf to grasp the hand of the Roman power, when she shall reach over the abyss to clasp hands with spiritualism, when, under the influence of this threefold union, our country shall repudiate every principle of its Constitution as a Protestant and republican government, and shall make provision for the propagation of papal falsehoods and delusions, then we may know that the time has come for the marvelous working of Satan and that the end is near.
As the approach of the Roman armies was a sign to the disciples of the impending destruction of Jerusalem, so may this apostasy be a sign to us that the limit of God’s forbearance is reached, that the measure of our nation’s iniquity is full, and that the angel of mercy is about to take her flight, never to return. The people of God will then be plunged into those scenes of affliction and distress which prophets have described as the time of Jacob’s trouble. The cries of the faithful, persecuted ones ascend to heaven. And as the blood of Abel cried from the ground, there are voices also crying to God from martyrs’ graves, from the sepulchers of the sea, from mountain caverns, from convent vaults: “How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost Thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?”
[“… they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.” (Rev. 6:11),  “These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” (Rev. 7:14).]
The Lord is doing His work. All heaven is astir. The Judge of all the earth is soon to arise and vindicate His insulted authority. The mark of deliverance will be set upon the men who keep God’s commandments, who revere His law, and who refuse the mark of the beast or of his image.
God has revealed what is to take place in the last days, that His people may be prepared to stand against the tempest of opposition and wrath. Those who have been warned of the events before them are not to sit in calm expectation of the coming storm, comforting themselves that the Lord will shelter His faithful ones in the day of trouble. We are to be as men waiting for their Lord, not in idle expectancy, but in earnest work, with unwavering faith. It is no time now to allow our minds to be engrossed with things of minor importance. While men are sleeping, Satan is actively arranging matters so that the Lord’s people may not have mercy or justice. The Sunday movement is now making its way in darkness. The leaders are concealing the true issue, and many who unite in the movement do not themselves see whither the undercurrent is tending. Its professions are mild and apparently Christian, but when it shall speak it will reveal the spirit of the dragon. It is our duty to do all in our power to avert the threatened danger. We should endeavor to disarm prejudice by placing ourselves in a proper light before the people. We should bring before them the real question at issue, thus interposing the most effectual protest against measures to restrict liberty of conscience. We should search the Scriptures and be able to give the reason for our faith. Says the prophet: “The wicked shall do wickedly: and none of the wicked shall understand; but the wise shall understand.”
Those who have access to God through Christ have important work before them. Now is the time to lay hold of the arm of our strength. The prayer of David should be the prayer of pastors and laymen: “It is time for Thee, Lord, to work: for they have made void Thy law.” Let the servants of the Lord weep between the porch and the altar, crying: “Spare Thy people, O Lord, and give not Thine heritage to reproach.” God has always wrought for His people in their greatest extremity, when there seemed the least hope that ruin could be averted. The designs of wicked men, the enemies of the church, are subject to His power and overruling providence. He can move upon the hearts of statesmen; the wrath of the turbulent and disaffected, the haters of God, His truth, and His people can be turned aside, even as the rivers of water are turned, if He orders it thus. Prayer moves the arm of Omnipotence. He who marshals the stars in order in the heavens, whose word controls the waves of the great deep, the same infinite Creator will work in behalf of His people if they call upon Him in faith. He will restrain the forces of darkness until the warning is given to the world and all who will heed it are prepared for the conflict.
“The wrath of man shall praise Thee,” says the psalmist; “the remainder of wrath shalt Thou restrain.” God means that testing truth shall be brought to the front and become a subject of examination and discussion, even if it is through the contempt placed upon it. The minds of the people must be agitated. Every controversy, every reproach, every slander, will be God’s means of provoking inquiry and awakening minds that otherwise would slumber. Testimonies for the church, p. 451-453.

We are soon to lose, completely and forever, Jehovah’s Spirit just as King Saul lost it, and, like Saul, our nation will be driven into darkness beyond measure. Haven’t we been taken over by the same strange new excitement that took over the Germany people? Won’t we receive with grateful worship our dictator who will drive America, our nation which is already moving in the direction of world’s number one aggressor, to dominate the globe for the Vatican and its new world order? Don’t the murals of the Denver International Airport clearly foretell of such a brave new world?

Aren’t the so-called wild-fires in California simply the beta-testing for a new order of America? Don’t these fires forecast that we ultimately will become the world’s largest nature reserve after removing all Protestants from its soil by propaganda, attempted annihilation of all who didn’t heed Matthew 24:16, and finally corralling the complicit into small, state-of-the-art smart cities, leaving vast territories to the wild? Then the world will be thought better off without a Protestant presence and with a silent national conscience. The whole world will be a happy place with no one to prick the hearts of the human race sunken in lawless New Age paganism. The rejoicing children depicted in the Denver airport murals will result from no voice of their Creator to motivate souls to repent and be converted, souls of people that might have been made honest and earnest if they had studied the Holy Writ fearfully while it was accessible.

“The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space.” (Rev. 17:8-10).

This “son of perdition” (2Thess. 2:3), the vile “king of the north” (Dan. 11:21), the punishing “northern army” (Joel 2:20, cf vs. 1-11), started his push to global domination nearly 2 millennia ago after the ambitious post-apostolic church departed from their first love for the Son of God (see 2 Thessalonians 2:3,7). And this ambitious king will continue until the Lord returns (see 2 Thessalonians 2:8). The vile northern king, which was pushed temporarily by the southern king, is the also “beast that was, and is not, and yet is.” And all the lost world will “wonderG2296 [admire, marvel]” and even worship the apostate leaders of fallen Christianity (see Revelation 13:3,4), just as the German people did 80 years ago.

“And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.” (Rev. 17:11). Then the people of God will know the deepest depths of rebellion by a world fully ripened for destruction. They will experience the fulfillment of Isaiah 60. “Behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people.” (Isa. 60:2). But, they will “sigh and that cry for all the abominations that be done in the midst [of the global, new world order Church].” (Eze. 9:4). Then “at midnight there [will be] a cry made, Behold, the Bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet Him.” (Matt. 25:6).

And they will receive the precious promise that comes with their repentant sighing and crying:

“We have been with child, we have been in pain, we have as it were brought forth wind; we have not wrought any deliverance in the earth; neither have the inhabitants of the world fallen. Thy dead men shall live, together with My dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy dew is as the dew of herbs, and the earth shall cast out the dead.” (Isa. 26:18,19).

“Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. …the LORD shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.” (Isa. 60:1-5).

“The bridegroom [will come in the Latter Rain]; and they that [will be ready will go] in with Him to the marriage: and the door [will be] shut.” (Matt. 25:10).

“Come, My people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. For, behold, the LORD cometh out of His place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.” (Isa. 26:20,19).

“And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.” (Matt. 24:30).

Further explanations for my comment answer to a YouTube renunciation of Adventist on theological grounds of the Investigative Judgment

“And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it is sealed: and the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned.” (Isa. 29:11,12).

The [Daniel 8:14] 2,300 year period was not an answer to “How long did the abomination of desolation do its work? [or] For how long did the abomination of desolation continue?” But, the question was, “How long was the vision of the abomination of desolation?” That vision began long before the desolation of the heavenly sanctuary, the persecution of the saints and blaspheming of the heavenly angels, and the casting down of the atoning crucifixion of Christ, all of which occurred during the Dark Ages by the little horn power. The vision began during the Persian Empire, which connects with the reign of Artaxerxes when he funded the restart of the Jewish economy and government in 457 BC.

The little horn came out of—not one of the four horns of the he-goat—but it came out of one of the four winds. In light of the previous two prophecies, Rome would be the empire that followed the Grecian he-goat, and it also had a little horn element in the Daniel 7 prophecy. Therefore, the greatest blasphemy against God and His heavenly sanctuary occurred [by] the papacy [during] the Dark Ages. And Revelation 13:1-7 and Daniel 11:21-45 agree with the Daniel 8:10-14, 23-25 [vision].

The cleansing, as in restoring, the heavenly sanctuary from the defiling by the little horn, would consist of not only clearing all sins from the throne of God, but also a special work of purification on earth. That special work of purification must necessarily require the cleansing of false doctrines and of clearing up the high standard for sanctification by faith. Together, the work of cleansing of heaven[ly] and earth[ly] temples would begin in 1844 and continue until the saints are sealed and sins [no] longer pollute the heavenly sanctuary. When the character of Christ is perfectly reproduced in His children then He will come and claim [them] as His own.

Regarding His entrance into the heavenly sanctuary upon His ascension, Hebrews 9 shows that the skene is what He entered, as the Holiest of all because the heavenly temple is holier than the earthly. And by design He must enter the Holy Place first before entering the Most Holy Place. There were three veils. He entered within the veil into the skene in 31 AD, and 1813 years later the hagia hagion.

Blessings, brother.

After I sent the comment, I thought I should have ended with “Godspeed, brother.” Thunder is still my brother despite his renunciation of the Advent movement. I believe that he knows not what he is doing.

I don’t know if my comment did justice to our doctrine on the Daniel 8:14 question, but I have looked as closely as I could with my non-seminary thinking cap. A few years back, I studied Hebrews 6 through 10 with some Adventist friends, and two verses that really hung me up were Hebrews 9:7, 8. At first it sounded like Dr. Desmond Ford and all the Evangelicals were right.

“But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: the Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing.” (Heb. 9:7,8).

Simply put, verse 8 in the King James Version says that the Holy Ghost, for 1,500 years, used the earthly temple to signify the way for faith in God’s pardon. The heavenly tabernacle was not manifest while the earthly was in operation as the only means God saw fit to lead the Egypt-tainted, earthy-minded Israelites to understand heavenly things. Heavenly abstractions would have either lost their faculty of faith altogether, or worse, it might have aided Satan in giving them something to buttress their love of Egyptian occultism, sending them forever into the astral planes. Ancient Israel needed to be grounded to the earth with an earthly throne of God, from which their God ruled and lived.

So, verse 8 was simply saying that the “holiest of all” was the heavenly tabernacle, being that it was holier than all the holiest of holy things and holy places on earth. His heavenly home was also holiest of all, being that the most holy Father dwelled there, “a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building [the earthly tabernacle]” (Heb. 9:11), “the true tabernacle, which the Lord pitched, and not man” (Heb. 8:2). The heavenly tabernacle wasn’t revealed or to be understood while Israel had a veil over their hearts and minds. Later to a predestinated generation the heavenly tabernacle would be revealed as the true way to redemption because they would believe Jesus as the Messiah, and the veil would then be taken off their hearts and minds.

All in all, verse 8 says nothing about the Most Holy Place of the heavenly sanctuary. It says not a word that Jesus bypassed or passed through the first compartment of the heavenly sanctuary and entered directly into the second compartment.

The thing that stumped me for a while was my assumption that verses 7 and 8 were part of the same sentence or same thought, and that verse 8 was referring to verse 7 only. In other words, it seemed that verse 8 was amplifying only verse 7. I turned my Bible 90° this way and 90° that way, and 180° upside down; and I even shook my Bible to see if some print or some ideas might have had fallen into the binding, and maybe would drop out. Later I understood that verse 8 referred to all the previous verses 1-7, which cleared up my confusion.

The true meaning of verse 8 makes more sense when we see the Koine Greek for “holiest of all” and “tabernacle” in that verse. The “holiest of all”, as verse 8 didn’t use the words,“hagia hagion”, was not referring to the Most Holy Place in the heavenly sanctuary. So, Christ did not enter through the third veil as our way to salvation immediately upon His ascension. And neither did the revelation of the Most Holy Place of the heavenly tabernacle occur upon the ending of the earthly tabernacle, since “hagia” “holy [places]” was the Hebrews 9:8 destination of Christ in question, not “hagia hagion” “the Most Holy”.

If that had been the case the writer of Hebrews (WoH) would have written “hagia hagion” in verse 8 for holiest of all as he had in verse 3. Instead WoH wrote “hagia”, meaning, Holy Place or holy places. Verse 8 was relating the human ignorance of the hagia Holy places of the heavenly sanctuary wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread” (Heb. 9:2) while the earthly sanctuary, skēnē (the building/tent) was in operation.

That is all that verse 8 is saying. It does not tell us that Jesus went directly into the Most Holy Place of the heavenly sanctuary, but simply that the way into the heavenly sanctuary was now made known to be accessible. This means that Hebrews 9:8 says that Jesus entered the heavenly building. That is all that Hebrews 9:8 is saying.

I have copy/pasted KJV Hebrews 9:1-3,6-8 with Strong’s numbers from e-Sword®. Then I have broken the verses down further in a table to bring out the Koine Greek words for sanctuary locations where Jesus might have ascended to:

What is the big picture of this issue? What are the little pictures that make up the bigger picture?

Maybe I’m all wrong, but I believe that verse 8 has created a lot of unnecessary confusion. However, in a good way it also was the cause of a lot of truly necessary real revisiting of Hebrews 9. The Lord sends controversies and heresies to wake us up to Bible study, so that our minds can Tango with His.

“The fact that there is no controversy or agitation among God’s people, should not be regarded as conclusive evidence that they are holding fast to sound doctrine. There is reason to fear that they may not be clearly discriminating between truth and error. When no new questions are started by investigation of the Scriptures, when no difference of opinion arises which will set men to searching the Bible for themselves, to make sure that they have the truth, there will be many now, as in ancient times, who will hold to tradition, and worship they know not what.” Counsels to Writers and Editors, p. 39.

With regard to the heavenly sanctuary, other than Hebrews 9:3 everything else throughout the book of Hebrews speaks of only “hagia”, the heavenly Holy Place, or heavenly Holy places, which refers to the whole sanctuary, “heaven” (Heb. 9:24). Nowhere else in the entire book speaks of “hagia hagion”, the actual heavenly Most Holy Place of the holiest, remotest haven for Jehovah the Father, holy and reverend is His name.

For good reason, Adventism has historically used the earthly tabernacle for a model of Christ’s three ministries. To begin each ministry He entered through a veil.

The first veil gave entrance to the earthly courtyard. Christ’s first ministry since the beginning of time and throughout the Old Testament was typified by the court of the earthly tabernacle. There the altar of burnt offering was the centerpiece, sitting perfectly at the diagonally crossed center of the courtyard. That altar represented Christ’s work as Lamb slain from the foundation of the world, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. In all of His discipline upon the human race, specifically as illustrated through Israel, His heavenly ministry for humanity has involved His mediatorial work of mercy as much as His punishing judgments. “In all their affliction He was afflicted, and the Angel of His presence saved them: in His love and in His pity He redeemed them; and He bare them, and carried them all the days of old.” (Isa. 63:9).

Later, upon His ascension after accomplishing the provision for redeeming our fallen race, to enter the sanctuary Christ must pass through the second veil, which WoH somewhat alludes to being the first veil. Therefore, following the model given to Moses, Christ’s second ministry would necessarily be in the Holy Place, since the only way into the sanctuary was through the veil of the Holy Place. There was no way to get into the Most Holy Place via the third veil without first going through the second veil and the Holy Place. And a great work, involving His own blood, must take place first in the Holy Place. Thus, we must follow the pattern established by the earthly temple economy. In that beautifully clear model, which served “unto the example and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was admonished of God when he was about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith He, that thou make all things according to the pattern shewed to thee in the mount.” (Heb. 8:5).

The actual second veil, which opened to the sanctuary building, was the first veil ever mentioned in the book of Hebrews. It was to enter through this actual second veil of the whole heavenly sanctuary complex, and specifically into the Holy Place of the sanctuary, that was so great a consolation. This is because Jesus was entering “heaven” (Heb. 9:24) in glorified human flesh to appear directly before God for us, not into an earthly temple that exuded everything carnal and of human construction.

“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an High Priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.” (Heb. 6:19,20).

Upon ascension Jesus wasn’t made a High Priest forever as in one who would officiate in Aaron’s Judgment Day typical Day of Atonement. Aaron’s Day of Atonement work was a short closure to spiritually transform and renew the sanctuary by ceremonially sweeping it clean of all the filthiness of the flesh brought in throughout the year. The Day of Atonement was a very extraordinary work compared to the normal, daily, ordinary work of reconciliation, pardon, and salvation. But, the new work of our High Priest was that of the ordinary work of reconciliation, pardon, and salvation.

“For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, saith the Lord; I will put My laws into their mind, and write them in their hearts: and I will be to them a God, and they shall be to Me a people:
And they shall not teach every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the Lord: for all shall know Me, from the least to the greatest.
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.
In that He saith, A new covenant, He hath made the first old. Now that which decayeth and waxeth old is ready to vanish away.” (Heb. 8:10-13).

“My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: and He is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” (1Jn. 2:1,2).

“For there is one God, and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus; who gave Himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” (1Tim. 2:5,6).

So, Christ’s work was that of the priests during the annual year to advocate for fallen, weakened man; and “in due time” a change would come to Christ’s mediation. What change would come? It would be His final closure of redemption would come by accomplishing the antitypical Day of Atonement phase of His heavenly ministry, which would result in His children’s characters testifying of His exalted character in the Latter Rain of the Holy Spirit.

Yes, we have had a heavenly High Priest over all earthly high priests. He has been touched with the feelings of our infirmities, unlike the earthly high priests who like hard-hearted Eli couldn’t read the hearts of His people or sympathize with them. But Jesus is High Priest because He poured out His soul unto death. He satisfied the Father and His Law by a perfect self-sacrifice, ad therefore God had highly exalted His only begotten Son, the new High Priest-King. He is our heavenly Priest performing in the heavenly Holy Place, holiest of all, for the ministration of His propitiation by His own blood. “By His own blood He entered in once into the hagia holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us” (Heb. 9:12), rather than an earthly priest entering an earthly holy place with bull’s blood for a temporary redemption. However, the cleansing of the heavenly sanctuary would be yet future.

Jesus was typified by priest Eleazar who received the calling of his father’s high priesthood immediately before slaying the great red heifer before his face, representing the Son of God as greatest Sacrifice, of all other sacrifices utmost thoroughly and completely devoured by the flames before His Father’s face, and brought to ashes, alone which made Jesus an all-sufficient High Priest for the utmost guilty sinner. But, this ceremony was not in order to begin cleansing the sanctuary in the Most Holy. It was for cleansing the guiltiest and most shameful sinner of all his defilement, sanctified in the court and blood sprinkled “directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times” (Num. 19:4).

His eternal death “dedicated…the patterns of things in the heavens” (Heb. 9:18,23). His death was the inauguration of a new and living redemption from sin that would not be completed until the antitypical Day of Atonement, “in due time”.

Therefore Jesus didn’t enter directly into the Most Holy Place.

I confess that I didn’t exegete any of this. I am not a theologian. I’ve never had a theological education. But the gospel should be so simple that children can understand it. “Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast Thou ordained strength because of Thine enemies, that Thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.” (Ps. 8:2).

“I have more understanding than all my teachers: for Thy testimonies are my meditation.
I understand more than the ancients, because I keep Thy precepts.” (Ps. 119:99,100).

“Whom shall He teach knowledge? and whom shall He make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:
For with stammering lips and another tongue will He speak to this people.” (Isa. 28:9-11).
“And the burden of the LORD shall ye mention no more: for every man’s word shall be his burden; for ye have perverted the words of the living God, of the LORD of hosts our God.” (Jer. 23:36).

“For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world?” (1Cor. 1:19,20).

“Therefore, behold, I will proceed to do a marvellous work among this people, even a marvellous work and a wonder: for the wisdom of their wise men shall perish, and the understanding of their prudent men shall be hid.” (Isa. 29:14).

“But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; and base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are.” (1Cor. 1:27,28).

“How do ye say, We are wise, and the law of the LORD is with us? Lo, certainly in vain made He it; the pen of the scribes is in vain. The wise men are ashamed, they are dismayed and taken: lo, they have rejected the word of the LORD; and what wisdom is in them?” (Jer. 8:8,9).
