Ode to an old uncle

To my uncle Harold (Kitty) Wilson, a hunk of a Cherokee, a real live Paul Bunyan always chopping down trees to build a campfire, as well as a mighty warrior of the Boy Scouts of America. My uncle hero is famous in the wilds of West Virginia for his Army service in WWII, and then his decades of service for developing boys who he would always break down to parade rest, and the put them back together as men. They all loved him for it, too.

Today he passed to his rest. He left behind a son and a daughter, both retired and accomplished in many abilities. He also is survived by many foster children and Eagle Scouts, and multitudes of lesser scouts. Probably the whole Boy Scout organizational leadership will be at the memorial, as well as a U.S. Army company.

Uncle Kitty died on a remarkable day in the country that he loved. Today marks another alteration to the organization that he also loved so much. Today the Boy Scouts of America was ordered by the courts to admit females. The Girl Scouts weren’t good enough to train up girls to be upright citizens.

Actually, it appears that anything and everything of the old world order must bow to the New order of things, or be annihilated. The old world must never again be the same. The New World Order will be a whole new existence. Ya’ll, and we ain’t see nothin’ yet.

“This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.” (2Tim. 3:1-5).

The new Boy Scouts is just the tip of the New World order and the New Age iceberg.

So, maybe it’s providential and a mercy that Uncle Kitty died today. He didn’t have to hear the surrender of the BSA. Perhaps if he had heard of the newest direction of his scouts and his country, he would have died prematurely.

Thank you, Lord. Your mercy endureth forever.

God bless you, Uncle Kitty. See you at the Tree of Life.
