The coming cleansing

Many people have never heard of the genocide that occurred in Yugoslavia and Croatia during WWII. But, taking into account the smaller region and overall population when compared to the masses of European peoples that the Axis powers ravaged, the hundreds of thousands of non-Catholic and dissident peoples' extermination was proportionally greater and their murders more barbaric than the horrific genocide perpetrated on the whole of Europe.

We have heard that all wars are bankers' wars. But that is simply another deception piled on top of the heap that forms the strong delusion at the end. It's true that bankers have been involved in the wars of the past two centuries, but backing the banker kings has been religion, Vatican religion, Jesuit religion, mystery religion. Not the pure, Christian religion of Christ's self-sacrificing love, but pagan, powerful, politically connected, mysteriously purposed religion, that is, a particular religion whose purposes have been eternally hidden from the uninitiated secular eye.

"Kill a third, deport a third, convert a third" may have meant, "deport the useless, convert all who would be too afraid to be tortured, and kill the incurably resistant and brave". As it was in Hitler's Catholic Reich, in the Papacy's Croatia the agenda was its age-old persecution. "Cleansing", ethnic or religious, gives the connotation of heartless, atheistic purposes by a secular madman or power-hungry, elitist oligarchy. But the targets of WWII persecution were protestant, whether or not "Protestant" by creed or affiliation. The cleansed were opposition to Catholicism, the religion clamoring for world domination to fulfill the wishes of their spirit master, of global service to his satanic majesty, the third person of the Trinity that usurped the throne of God in the hearts of His Earth-bound children, and the Trinity god that purports to oversee God the Father and His only begotten Son. 

The hidden agenda of WWII was the fulfillment of Revelation 17, "the beast that...was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition". (Vs. 8). The agenda of the last world war was the final take back of the world stolen multiple times from the devil. Besides the millions of personal conversions from sin, the three grand redemptions of our race came by 1) the worldwide flood that ended Lucifer's antediluvian reign and began Noah's Old World Order righteous world government, which dealt with Nimrod, the great grandson of Noah, and his attacks against heaven and all the families on earth, 2) by "the prince of this world... judged" (John 16:11), salvation ratified by the sinless pouring out of the Son's Spirit on Calvary and at Pentecost, His collapse of pagan Rome's totalitarian Dictatorship through the crucified Son of God, and exalted Lord of Lords, King of Kings who "went forth conquering, and to conquer" (Rev. 6:2), and 3) by the rightful conquest of the Protestant Reformation over the power-mongering Papal supremacy after more than a millennium of its persecutions and societal corruption. The genocide under the Hitler-installed Ante Pavelic's Ustashe cleanse was really what we are increasingly hearing today ex-cathedra, the age-old Catholic form of "convert or die" evangelism. 

There are two more Dragon humiliations yet to come: 4) the victorious Second Advent of the Lamb of God that throws the Dragon's Beast into the lake of fire, and 5) the final day of judgment, Lord God Almighty hosting the second resurrection of all the wicked under the Beast power, their second death under divine conviction of wide open, unavoidable access to insuppressible divine wrath, and the final tribunal of Satan himself that throws that fiend into the lake fire, agonizing with the Evangelical Beast and his secret society sons and apostate denomination daughters, once and forever the destruction of the ancient Serpent, Lucifer the Great.

The question that should loom in every intelligent mind today is, Will the New World Order be founded upon the same form of religious cleansing? Bible prophecy says that it will.

The pleas of the afflicted in the Catholic scourge of the Balkan states went unacknowledged by the Catholic Church because of the greater theater of war and genocide of the Nazi Axis. To that larger theater the Vatican went completely silent until after the failure of the continent-wide attempt to establish Jesuit religion. Why should the Pope intercede for the lowly Balkan states, mainly since that genocide accomplished the goals of the Vatican as successfully, if not more so, than its more well known evangelistic effort in the larger theater?

Even children had their own concentration camp. But what comprises the current propoganda concerning the New World Order children? A whole different picture than mournful concentration camp conditions appears at the Denver International Airport (DIA).

Bright, bold, intensely colorful, thrilling, the DIA propaganda paints a utopian phenomenon. Success at last! Utopia at last! But, where are the parents of such happy children? Where is the much touted, Old World Order "It takes a village"? The parents and village will be replaced by a paternal state. Or, the state will be the village, a parentless village. And did you notice the six fasces? Bundled in national ensigns rather than leather straps, they still represent ultimate, authoritative law and jurisdiction. The fasces were the basis for WWII Fascism.

The New World Order utopia that couldn't be attained in the Roman Catholic, savage Bolshevic/ Soviet, Nazi, Mao, North Korean, North Vietnam, Cuban, Central and South American, African, Spaniard, or Croatian, totalitarian regimes, will finally be achieved by enough global misery under the attacked, corrupted, and now waning, failed Protestant Republic of America, the land of freedom, with its distinctive rights of person and property, and its separation of religion and state.

As it was prophesied,

"And when they [the church in the wilderness] shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified." (Rev. 11:7,8).

But the authoritative propaganda from the DIA blames the destruction of world peace on the Old World Order of protestants, not on the true destroyers, the powerful and deceptive, Roman Catholic Order of the Jesuits. They superintend the "great tribulation" (Matt. 24:21; Rev. 7:14).

"And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies [the protesting church in the wilderness, witnesses for biblical truth, but that later dabbled in Jesuit lawlessness and received the divine rebuke] three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth." (Rev. 11:9,10).

But, however the New World Order makes it appear that it will attain its apparently innocuous objective of freedom and happiness in the new world, multitudes of the young will suffer pedaphilia, torture, and death in concentration camps just as they have in every other attempt made by the eight-headed, apocalyptic beast power, the neo-Nimrod, Jesuit Vatican rebellion, it being the villainous eighth head of the Beast.

Throughout the centuries of the Dark Ages, and into this new age of light, much experimentation has been made, not for the purpose of advancing peace and rest, but solely as another from of torture. Surgeries without anesthesia were performed, contortions of the whole body, of limbs, of digits, were invented to inflict the most torment to body, mind, and soul, without loss of life. 

This increase of sadistic knowledge through the years has built upon itself in exponential fashion. And all of that accumulated store is earmarked for Satan's last fight for comrades in arms, for the purpose of warding off any and all courage in the professed people of God, and change of heart in all from his own ranks who might be tempted to defect to the side of Christ. All but the very elect will cave in fear of the bold threatenings of the man of lawlessness, "that Wicked one, whose coming is after the working of Satan" (2Thess. 2:8). 

The son of perdition will be as filled with the wrath of the revenging hosts of darkness as was Nimrod the giant monstrosity of a man. A religious system, the huge beast of apocalyptic prophecy, the infamous "peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues" (Rev. 17:15), ridden by the ravenous blood-thirsty woman, the whole represented by a single man who wears blood-red slippers, will bear the marks of the sinister General of generals by the inexorable lusts of the ancient monster who, through the ages has been worshipped for his most impeccable personification of the kingdom of rebellion against Christ's righteousness and Sonship. 

As, throughout the millennia, Nimrod's monstrous persona and execution have been sung in myths and poems, likewise have "they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?" (Rev. 13:4). 

The more sophisticated beast system has fulfilled the purpose of worshiping and keeping alive the exaltation of the Dragon Satan, as much as did the crude worship of Baal and Moloch. The Mass, the occult ritual that has commemorated Nimrod's death, has perpetuated the darkening of the earth through spiritualism, sorcery, nature worship, and necromancy, which is the worship of the dead, Satan has claimed humanity as his rightful prey. 

While they have divided their loyalty between the Creator and the Destroyer Jehovah has had to give them up to Baal. He will not share the throne of the heart with the enemy of holiness, righteousness, and goodness. The appetites of the world's masses has been manipulated since the first pair ate of the forbidden tree. The rank and stimulating foods have captivated them in sin, rather than the mild and wholesome foods from their Creator's hand.

But in the end of Satan's desolation, after the people of the Lord have come to deep repentance for their infidelity and to utter self-renunciation, then the Jesuit Vatican deceivers of the whole world and the destroyers of the whole earth will suffer all the torture and abuse that that wicked institution of the devil doled out upon the erring children of God. God and His infinite retribution get the last word.

As it is also prophesied,

"Comfort ye, comfort ye My people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the Lord's hand double for all her sins." (Isa. 40:1,2).

Fascism, the salvation for a nation or the curse to any people.

Other definitions, Paxton said, rely too heavily on documents that Mussolini, Hitler and others produced before they came to power. Once in power, fascists did not always keep their early promises. That is why the German Nazi regime demonized Jews and others, while Mussolini's Italian regime demonized Bolsheviks."

So, what is Fascism? It is fundamentalist, politically conservative, (hyper) nationalistic, nationally exclusionary, expansionistic. It uses a national foe for a means to unite the country behind its promoter. Along with a common foe against whom to focus the people's adrenalin, it also has "a core principle". "That is to make the nation stronger, more powerful, larger and more successful. Since fascists see national strength as the only thing that makes a nation 'good,' fascists will use any means necessary to achieve that goal." It uses sophisticated propaganda to achieve the proposed strengthening and exaltation of the nation.

One thing we haven't seen is the petsomal loss of private assets. "As a result, fascists aim to use the country's assets to increase the country's strength. This leads to a nationalization of assets..." But is this far off? The Great Reset promises a great trade-off---the forgiveness of all debts for the surrender of all property and assets. Doesn't that sound like a nationalization of assets?

Fascism seems to be a mixture of philosophies that depends on the will of the masses. It looks different from one country to the next. It uses a single enemy to focus national adrenalin against, but vilifies different "enemies" for each country. It appears to do the will of the people, but excels at propaganda to create that people's will.

This article came to the internet on January 25, 2017. Published just five days after the inauguration on January 20, 2017, this article may have been inspired by some Donald Trump sentiments during the Republican debates and his stumping during the presidential race. But, if not then was the article purely objective and accurate, and maybe even prophetic?

I'm not a political scientist. Who am I to do political analysis? But I have this blog because I do want to understand the issues and follow the signs of the times. I want to hear truth and do my duty to expose deception. As I've talked with people over current events in relation to last day events, even within the political realm, it seems that multitudes overlook the real meanings and deeper issues, both spiritually and politically.

Jesus was not opposed to this direction of Bible study for the Christian life. He taught, "Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves." (Matt. 10:16). Therefore, when I get professional opinions on political matters, I compare them to the ultimate authority, the Bible, which is not opinion but fact, reality, and truth. Then I try to come to a correct understanding of the issue, and tweek it again and again. Tweeking and tweeking again and again.

So, what can we make of the above assessment from Live Science? Didn't they detect fascism in President Trump's speeches? Didn't we see aspects of fascism in his administration? Will we see the same under the banner of a Democrat presidential administration?

Aren't we experiencing American-style fascism, where ''religion … would play a much greater role in authentic fascism in the United States"?

(Vs. 8). The agenda of the last world war was the final take back of the world stolen multiple times from the devil. Besides the millions of personal conversions from sin, the three grand redemptions of our race came by 1) the worldwide flood that ended Lucifer's antediluvian reign and began Noah's Old World Order righteous world government, which dealt with Nimrod, the great grandson of Noah, and his attacks against heaven and all the families on earth, 2) by "the prince of this world... judged" (John 16:11), salvation ratified by the sinless pouring out of the Son's Spirit on Calvary and at Pentecost, His collapse of pagan Rome's totalitarian Dictatorship through the crucified Son of God, and exalted Lord of Lords, King of Kings who "went forth conquering, and to conquer" (Rev. 6:2), and 3) by the rightful conquest of the Protestant Reformation over the power-mongering Papal supremacy after more than a millennium of its persecutions and societal corruption. The genocide under the Hitler-installed Ante Pavelic's Ustashe cleanse was really what we are increasingly hearing today ex-cathedra, the age-old Catholic form of "convert or die" evangelism. There are two more Dragon humiliations yet to come: 4) the victorious Second Advent of the Lamb of God that throws the Dragon's Beast into the lake of fire, and 5) the final day of judgment, Lord God Almighty hosting the second resurrection of all the wicked under the Beast power, their second death under divine conviction of wide open, unavoidable access to insuppressible divine wrath, and the final tribunal of Satan himself that throws that fiend into the lake fire, agonizing with the Evangelical Beast and his secret society sons and apostate denomination daughters, once and forever the destruction of the ancient Serpent, Lucifer the Great.

The question that should loom in every intelligent mind today is, Will the New World Order be founded upon the same form of religious cleansing? Bible prophecy says that it will.

"In her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth." (Rev. 18:24).

"During the Second World War in Yugoslavia, Catholic priests and Muslim clerics were willing accomplices in the genocide of the nation’s Serbian, Jewish and Roma population. From 1941 until 1945, the Nazi-installed regime of Ante Pavelic in Croatia carried out some of the most horrific crimes of the Holocaust (known as the Porajmos by the Roma), killing over 800,000 Yugoslav citizens – 750,000 Serbs, 60,000 Jews and 26,000 Roma. In these crimes, the Croatian Ustasha and Muslim fundamentalists were openly supported by the Vatican, the Archbishop of Zagreb Cardinal Alojzije Stepinac (1898-1960), and the Palestinian Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Hajj Amin al-Husseini. Many of the victims of the Pavelic regime in Croatia were killed in the war’s third largest death camp – Jasenovac, where over 200,000 people – mainly Orthodox Serbs met their deaths. Some 240,000 were “rebaptized” into the Catholic faith by fundamentalist Clerics in “the Catholic Kingdom of Croatia” as part of the policy to “kill a third, deport a third, convert a third” of Yugoslavia’s Serbs, Jews and Roma in wartime Bosnia and Croatia (The Yugoslav Auschwitz and the Vatican, Vladimar Dedijer, Anriman-Verlag, Freiburg, Germany, 1988)." The pleas of the afflicted in the Catholic scourge of the Balkan states went unacknowledged by the Catholic Church because of the greater theater of war and genocide of the Nazi Axis. To that larger theater the Vatican went completely silent until after the failure of the continent-wide attempt to establish Jesuit religion. Why should the Pope intercede for the lowly Balkan states, mainly since that genocide accomplished the goals of the Vatican as successfully, if not more so, than its more well known evangelistic effort in the larger theater?

"The 6 January Dictatorship and the later anti-Croat policies of the Serb-dominated Yugoslav government in the 1920s and 1930s fueled the rise of nationalist and far-right movements. This culminated in the rise of the Ustaše, an ultranationalist, fascist and terrorist organization, founded by Pavelić. The movement was financially and ideologically supported by Benito Mussolini, and it [the movement that was financially and ideologically supported by Benito Mussolini] was also involved in the assassination of King Alexander I. 

Following the Axis invasion of Yugoslavia in April 1941, a German puppet state known as the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) was established, comprising most of modern-day Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as parts of modern-day Serbia and Slovenia, ruled by the Ustaše. The Ustaše's goal was to create an ethnically homogeneous Greater Croatia by eliminating all non-Croats, with the [Orthodox] Serbs being the primary target, but Jews, Roma and political dissidents were also targeted for elimination. Large scale massacres were committed and concentration camps were built, the largest one was the Jasenovac, which was notorious for its high mortality rate and the barbaric practices which occurred in it. Furthermore, the NDH was the only Axis puppet state to establish concentration camps specifically for children. The regime systematically murdered approximately 200,000 to 500,000 [Orthodox] Serbs. 300,000 Serbs were further expelled and at least 200,000 more Serbs were forcibly converted, most of whom de-converted following the war. Even children had their own concentration camp. But what comprises the current propoganda concerning the New World Order children? A whole different picture than mournful concentration camp conditions appears at the Denver International Airport (DIA).

Bright, bold, intensely colorful, thrilling, the DIA propaganda paints a utopian phenomenon. Success at last! Utopia at last! But, where are the parents of such happy children? Where is the much touted, Old World Order "It takes a village"? The parents and village will be replaced by a paternal state. Or, the state will be the village, a parentless village. And did you notice the six fasces? Bundled in national ensigns rather than leather straps, they still represent ultimate, authoritative law and jurisdiction. The fasces were the basis for WWII Fascism.

The New World Order utopia that couldn't be attained in the Roman Catholic, savage Bolshevic/ Soviet, Nazi, Mao, North Korean, North Vietnam, Cuban, Central and South American, African, Spaniard, or Croatian, totalitarian regimes, will finally be achieved by enough global misery under the attacked, corrupted, and now waning, failed Protestant Republic of America, the land of freedom, with its distinctive rights of person and property, and its separation of religion and state.

As it was prophesied,

"And when they [the church in the wilderness] shall have finished their testimony, the beast that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit shall make war against them, and shall overcome them, and kill them.

And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified." (Rev. 11:7,8).

But the authoritative propaganda from the DIA blames the destruction of world peace on the Old World Order of protestants, not on the true destroyers, the powerful and deceptive, Roman Catholic Order of the Jesuits. They superintend the "great tribulation" (Matt. 24:21; Rev. 7:14).

"And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations shall see their dead bodies [the protesting church in the wilderness, witnesses for biblical truth, but that later dabbled in Jesuit lawlessness and received the divine rebuke] three days and an half, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves.

And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth." (Rev. 11:9,10).

But, however the New World Order makes it appear that it will attain its apparently innocuous objective of freedom and happiness in the new world, multitudes of the young will suffer pedaphilia, torture, and death in concentration camps just as they have in every other attempt made by the eight-headed, apocalyptic beast power, the neo-Nimrod, Jesuit Vatican rebellion, it being the villainous eighth head of the Beast.

Throughout the centuries of the Dark Ages, and into this new age of light, much experimentation has been made, not for the purpose of advancing peace and rest, but solely as another from of torture. Surgeries without anesthesia were performed, contortions of the whole body, of limbs, of digits, were invented to inflict the most torment to body, mind, and soul, without loss of life. 

This increase of sadistic knowledge through the years has built upon itself in exponential fashion. And all of that accumulated store is earmarked for Satan's last fight for comrades in arms, for the purpose of warding off any and all courage in the professed people of God, and change of heart in all from his own ranks who might be tempted to defect to the side of Christ. All but the very elect will cave in fear of the bold threatenings of the man of lawlessness, "that Wicked one, whose coming is after the working of Satan" (2Thess. 2:8). 

The son of perdition will be as filled with the wrath of the revenging hosts of darkness as was Nimrod the giant monstrosity of a man. A religious system, the huge beast of apocalyptic prophecy, the infamous "peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues" (Rev. 17:15), ridden by the ravenous blood-thirsty woman, the whole represented by a single man who wears blood-red slippers, will bear the marks of the sinister General of generals by the inexorable lusts of the ancient monster who, through the ages has been worshipped for his most impeccable personification of the kingdom of rebellion against Christ's righteousness and Sonship. 

As, throughout the millennia, Nimrod's monstrous persona and execution have been sung in myths and poems, likewise have "they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?" (Rev. 13:4). 

The more sophisticated beast system has fulfilled the purpose of worshiping and keeping alive the exaltation of the Dragon Satan, as much as did the crude worship of Baal and Moloch. The Mass, the occult ritual that has commemorated Nimrod's death, has perpetuated the darkening of the earth through spiritualism, sorcery, nature worship, and necromancy, which is the worship of the dead, Satan has claimed humanity as his rightful prey. 

While they have divided their loyalty between the Creator and the Destroyer Jehovah has had to give them up to Baal. He will not share the throne of the heart with the enemy of holiness, righteousness, and goodness. The appetites of the world's masses has been manipulated since the first pair ate of the forbidden tree. The rank and stimulating foods have captivated them in sin, rather than the mild and wholesome foods from their Creator's hand.

But in the end of Satan's desolation, after the people of the Lord have come to deep repentance for their infidelity and to utter self-renunciation, then the Jesuit Vatican deceivers of the whole world and the destroyers of the whole earth will suffer all the torture and abuse that that wicked institution of the devil doled out upon the erring children of God. God and His infinite retribution get the last word.

As it is also prophesied,

"Comfort ye, comfort ye My people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the Lord's hand double for all her sins." (Isa. 40:1,2).

"Shall the prey be taken from the mighty, or the lawful captive delivered?

But thus saith the Lord, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children. 

And I will feed them that oppress thee with their own flesh; and they shall be drunken with their own blood, as with sweet wine: and all flesh shall know that I the Lord am thy Saviour and thy Redeemer, the mighty One of Jacob." (Isa. 49:24-26).

"And after three days and an half the spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them. 

And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither. And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; and their enemies beheld them.

And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and the tenth part of the city fell, and in the earthquake were slain of men seven thousand: and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven.

The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly." (Rev. 11:11-14).

Woe be to the Jesuit Vatican at that time.

As it is written, 

"For her  sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

Reward her even as she rewarded you, and double unto her double according to her works: in the cup which she hath filled fill to her double.

How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. 

 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. 

And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,

Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.

And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more." (Rev. 18:5-8).

"And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and He that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He doth judge and make war.

His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns; and He had a name written, that no man knew, but He Himself.

And He was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and His name is called The Word of God...

And out of His mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it He should smite the nations: and He shall rule them with a rod of iron: and He treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God....

And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone." (Rev. 19:11-13,15,20).

"The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of His indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night." (Rev. 14:10,11).

Gulag Archipelago, a small taste of the coming "tribulation such as never was"

 

The ferocious atrocities of Naziism and Bolshevism are so reminiscent of the old Jesuit Inquisition machine that no one should criticize a comparison and Jesuit connection of both elder and more recent manifestations of horrific repression. Scripture foretells of such continued warfare against the concluding great controversy between Satan and Christ.

"And when He had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:

And they cried with a loud voice, saying, How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost Thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?

And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled." (Rev. 6:9-11).

"And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel....

After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb....

And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?

And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve Him day and night in His temple: and He that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them.

They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat.

For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes." (Rev. 7:4,9,10,13-17).

These precious promises apply to all who have cried out, who are crying out, and who will cry out in humbled repentance toward God and dependent faith in Christ. They should provide strong encouragement and purified surrender in the modern and future pogroms of the ongoing Inquisitions/great tribulations such as never were. The grande finale, the ascended eighth head of the Revation 17 beast from the bottomless pit and its tidal wave of great evil, the coming times of trouble that Jesus illustrated by comparison to birth contractions, are for our purification and preparation for His return in power.

"For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.

All these are the beginning of sorrows." (Matt. 24:7,8).

Such grave purification should reveal the infinite perfection that will be required for standing in God's presence. And the precious promise from Revelation 7 should spur us on when we will be in the middle of the great tribulation, when only destressing evil surrounds us, and depressing demonic whispers strive to eclipse the goodness of our Lord in His purifying.

"He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness.

Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto the Lord, as in the days of old, and as in former years." (Mal. 3:3,4).

ost books about the experience of holocaust, especially those written by survivors, have two purposes. One is to chronicle the full horror of the holocaust, to sear it into the collective consciousness, so that it may never recur. The other is to explain the historical origins and causes of that experience.

"The Gulag Archipelago" is a non-fictional account from and about the other great holocaust of our century--the imprisonment, brutalization and very often murder of tens of millions of innocent Soviet citizens by their own Government, mostly during Stalin's rule from 1929 to 1953.

Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn has called "The Gulag Archipelago" his "main" work, setting it above the major novels that won him the reputation of Russia's pre-eminent living writer and the 1970 Nobel Prize. The importance he attaches to the book, written in 1958-68 but authorized for Western publication only after the Soviet secret police seized a copy of the manuscript last August, is understandable.

Solzhenitsyn's first purpose has been to document for the Soviet people, whose Government has acknowledged only part of the truth and almost none of the responsibility, the full dimensions of what happened. A survivor himself, Solzhenitsyn feels a messianic obligation to "all those tortured and murdered," but even more to living and future generations. He wants the whole truth of official criminality and civic acquiescence openly acknowledged and condemned so that the nation can achieve spiritual and political renewal through "the great Russian tradition of penitence." As a chronicle of the holocaust, "The Gulag Archipelago" is an extraordinary achievement. As historical explanation, it is less successful.

Solzhenitsyn has recreated the history between 1918 and 1956 of "that amazing country of Gulag which, though scattered in an archipelago geographically, was, in the psychological sense, fused into a continent--an almost invisible, almost imperceptible, country inhabited by the zek people [prisoners]". . .Archipelago refers to the far-flung system of forced labor camps run and augmented by the secret police and its institutions, whose prisoner population grew from small numbers after the revolution of 1917 to 12 to 15 million (about half "politicals") at any one time by the 1940's. Gulag is the acronym of the central office that administered the penal camps.

Solzhenitsyn's reconstruction of this secret "country" with the country is itself a heroic accomplishment under Soviet conditions. The main sources are his own experiences from 1945 to 1953 and those related to him by 227 other survivors. Their testimonies are supplemented by information from official, samizdat, and even several Western publications. They are assembled in a powerful narrative which combines the prose styles of epic novelist, partisan, historian and outraged moralist, interspersed with Russian proverbs, black humor, prison camp language and parodies of Soviet bureaucratese. The sardonically polemical tone throughout the book suits Solzhenitsyn's subject and anger.

This volume of "The Gulag Archipelago," containing only two of seven projected parts, is structure loosely as a journey to the "thousands of islands of the spellbound Archipelago." The reader follows scores of victims, their biographies effectively generalized, from arrest to first cell and "interrogation," then onward through transit prisons, across the vast country in overcrowded, pestilent trains, to the ports and ships of the Archipelago. It is a journey into debasement and death, into grotesque torture, execution, rape, starvation, thirst, disease and more. Reduced to "a caricature of humanity," millions somehow survived the journey, other millions did not. The journey and book end upon arrival at the forced labor camps. Solzhenitsyn presumably will describe life and death there in subsequent volumes. Here he remarks only, "In camp it will be. . . .worse."

Solzhenitsyn's exposé should surprise no educated Western reader. General and specific aspects of the atrocity have long been known. Yet even for specialists there is a plethora of new detail, some more terrible, some ridiculous. Policemen search and dump the tiny coffin containing an arrested man's infant child. A woman interrogator threatens to arrest a prisoner's daughter and "lock her in a cell with syphilitics." A prisoner protesting that his alleged crime occurred when he was only 10 years old is warned not to "slander the Soviet intelligence service."

Not all of Solzhenitsyn's information about larger political affairs can be taken at face value. It seems unlikely, for example, that 200,000 Leningraders were arrested in 1934-35 alone, though the number may have been reached over a longer period. The tale of Stalin's plan to unleash a great pogrom in the early 1950's by publicly hanging several Jewish doctors in Red Square, however compatible with the dictator's personality, is based only on "rumors." these are minor points, though, and do not diminish the truthfulness of Solzhenitsyn's overall account.

Exposé, narrowly defined, is only part of this long and diverse book. Solzhenitsyn departs regularly from the prisoners' journey for substantial essays on the evolution, psychology and sociology of the Gulag country. To show that repression began with Lenin and the Bolshevik revolution, not with Stalin, he carefully traces the development of the political police, penal institutions, criminal code and political trials from 1918. He records the three main "waves" of arrests that populated "our sewage disposal system"--peasants swept in by collectivization in 1929-30, party and other officials by Stalin's purges of the late 1930's, entire minority nations and repatriated Soviet P.O.W.'s in 1944-46--but also many of the endless "brooks and rivulets. . .and just plain individually scooped-up droplets" since the beginning. He explores the mentality and stratification of victims, and victimizers a swell. As a result, the book transcends exposé, becoming an authentic literary re-creation of the "native life and customs of Archipelago."

How is this destruction of millions of innocent lives to be explained? Solzhenitsyn utterly rejects the view that it was caused by an aberration in Soviet history in 1929-53 known as Stalinism (a term having no real meaning for him). He maintains that it derived from the original nature of the Bolshevik revolution and Soviet political system-that there was a "straightline" between the Lenin and Stalin eras--and specifically from the Marxist-Leninst ideology.

The ideology's "spiritual baseness," its lack of "religious and moral principles," caused and justified the evil-doing. This argument, scattered throughout "The Gulag Archipelago" is restated in Solzhenitsyn's "Letter to the Soviet Leaders"--a remarkable moral, philosophical, programmatic appeal sent secretly to the leadership in September, 1973--"This ideology bears the entire responsibility for all the blood that has been shed."

Solzhenitsyn is certainly right that the police-prison camp system dates back to the year following the Bolshevik takeover in 1917, and that no achievements of the Soviet period can justify the subsequent torment and murder of millions. Leaving aside the fact that Soviet "ideology" has undergone radical changes over the years, and that Solzhenitsyn essentially equates Marxism with Stalinism, his general explanation, which is very similar to that of the most American scholars, is one-dimensional and selective in its historical evidence.

The original Bolshevik terror of 1918-21, for example, although enhanced by ideology, did not stem primarily from it, but from the dynamics of a fierce civil war against counterrevolutionary White and foreign armies. Both sides resorted to atrocities, a reciprocity common to civil wars elsewhere. After the civil war and with the consolidation of N.E.P., the party's moderate, reconciliatory polices of the 1920's, terror largely disappeared until Stalin's forcible abolition of N.E.P. in 1929. Though he tries, Solzhenitsyn's evidence does not revise this picture of the Soviet 1920 or support his contention that N.E.P. was merely a cynical deceit," which is essential to his view of a "straight line" between Bolshevism and Stalinism.

His indictment of the whole Bolshevik tradition produces other kinds of onesidedness. Most Western historians would at least agree that Lenin's legacy was ambiguous. In "The Gulag Archipelago" Lenin appears only as an embryonic Stalin, including repression against malingerers and foes as "insects." Bukharin, whom Solzhenitsyn calls "the highest and brightest intelligence" among original Bolshevik leaders, is nonetheless, or perhaps therefore, portrayed as sniveling and unprincipled before and during his arrest in 1937, though there is strong evidence he behaved very differently. Indeed, Solzhenitsyn suggests that virtually all of Stalin's millions of Communist victims, lacking "moral principles," behaved ignobly in prison, against contrary to much evidence.

Similarly, Solzhenitsyn's refusal to consider other partial explanations conflicts with some of his own evidence. He argues rightly, for example, that Soviet repression has been many thousandfold greater and is thus qualitatively different from Czarist repression. Yet his materials show that renascent Czarist traditions, as well as the historical passivity of the Russian people, abetted the catastrophe.

Despite the plain circumstance that capricious terrorizing of millions began and ended with Stalin's rule--the autocrat's presence as an animating force appears in asides throughout "The Gulag Archipelago"--Solzhenitsyn attributes no special significance to his role or personality.

Finally, in powerful sections vivified by candid references to his own near recruitment into the secret police, and to personal callousness during his career as a Red Army captain, Solzhenitsyn demonstrates the old adage that power corrupts thereby implying a more universalist element of the holocaust.

We can, in other words, honor and share Solzhenitsyn's moral condemnation of what happened without necessarily embracing his explanation. His personal conversion, in the Archipelago from Marxism to Leninism to Russian Christian Orthodoxy led him to an absolute repudiation of his first faith (a familiar syndrome among Western ex-Communists) and to the intensely religious, national, Slavophile outlook expressed in his "Letter."

In it he implores the Soviet leadership to disavow this "rubbishy ideology." It has killed, he argues 66 million and bred cynicism and hypocrisy among the living; now it is leading to a disastrous war with China as well as ecological catastrophe through unbridled economic and technological growth.

Critical of Western democracy and all notions of "eternal progress," he believes Russia can save herself only by turning deeply inward, away from empire and foreign involvements, and backward toward a reconstruction inspired by ancient native values of communalism, the land and the Church. The existing government, he says, can lead toward this "salvation" if, in addition, it adopts a truly benevolent authoritarianism that will "let the people breathe, let them think and develop!"

Though profoundly Russian, Solzhenitsyn's outlook does not reflect the whole, or perhaps even a major part of dissident thinking in the Soviet Union today. The spokesmen of Western-style liberalism and democratic Marxism-Leninism, Andre Sakharov and Roy Medvedev, respect him greatly, share some of his demands, and have protested his mistreatment. But they disagree with him on crucial questions about the past and the future. In particular, the anti-Stalinist, oppositionist ideas of Medvedev and others derive from a very different historical perspective, one that views the great terror as a repulsive betrayal of the Bolshevik revolution and Marxist- Leninist ideals. A new anthology of left-wing documents edited by George Saunders, "Samizdat: Voices of the Soviet Opposition" (New York: Monad Press, 1974) gives evidence that this perspective is alive and vigorous.

It is clear, however, that Solzhenitsyn, Sakharov, Medvedev and other brave nonconformists are engaged in an essential dialogue about the country's future. To this critical discussion the present Soviet leadership has nothing to contribute but censorship, selective repression and, in Solzhenitsyn's case, deportation. The implication of the situation is apparently the point of an anecdote now circulating in the Soviet Union:

A hundred years from now it is asked, "Who was Brezhnev?"

"Oh, he was some politician in the time of Solzhenitsyn."

A hundred years from now it is asked, "Who was Breszhnev?" (sic)

"Oh, he was some politician in the time of Solzyenitzyn." (sic)

This world is waxing old and is ready to vanish away.
